POSITIVE BEHAVIOR INTERVENTIONS AND SUPPORT

HOOVER SCHOOL OF FINE ARTS

Here is our school Mantra that your children know very well:

Have Respect

Act Responsibly

Work Together

Keep Trying Your Best

Stay Safe

Our Behavior Expectation Charts for the school and individual rooms are based on these 5 areas.

The purpose of PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Systems), is to help students learn the behavior expectations of the school, recognize the students for following the expectations, reward their efforts, and support those students who are not following the behavior expectations. Typically 94-98% of students will do a great job with the expectations, but some children will have difficulty with this, and there does need to be some consequences built in. When a student is not following the expectations after warnings, a yellow behavior slip is filled out. Parents are notified that the student received the slip, and then the slip is recorded into a data-base that provides the school with information about behaviors. Below is a copy of the yellow behavior slip we use at Hoover.
